Interview

Hello Morgehenna! It’s lovely to talk with you. How are you doing?
Awesome! Thanks
You have a variety of talents you’re known for. You’re a guitarist, vocalist, model, and you’ve also been in music videos. What created all this variety of things you’re passionate for and what is one thing that you can’t live without doing?
Guitar is my main passion but I’ve been doing music videos for 3 years modeling for almost two years. Modeling is a hobby but guitar is my greatest passion by a landslide.
You currently upload guitar covers and playthroughs on your Instagram and YouTube. Are you planning to start or join a band?
I have a band, we’ve been together for a year and a half now. We’re called Kryptkeeper and our first single is currently in the process of being mixed and mastered.
Awesome! I didn’t know that.
What bands did you grow up listening to and what can you say is the thing that inspired you to learn playing the guitar?
I grew up listening to a lot of classic rock, thanks to my dad. He was heavily into Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, and even some Nu metal like System of a Down.
I was inspired to play guitar at 16 years old when I was diagnosed with clinical depression. I was struggling with suicidal ideation and decided I needed a healthy outlet for creative expression.
To get to know you more (and because we at FemMetal love doing that), how about we play a game called ‘In a world..’. I’ll give you a certain scenario in an alternate universe, and you have to react! Ready?
Let’s do it!
In a world where you eat music instead of hearing it, what would your favourite music taste like?
I’ve been listening to a lot of Goregrind and I really don’t want to find out what Goregrind would taste like as food dish. Could be burning human flesh… could be feces. I don’t want to find out.
That’s… interesting 😲
In a world where you receive a dollar for every time a guy sends you something inappropriate or harasses you on social media, how rich would you be?
Probably not very rich. I think I’m harassed more in my day to day life by weirdos at gas stations than the internet. I’m pretty rude to lascivious men and even sometimes publicly humiliate them, so it doesn’t happen too often.
In a world where the currency is one’s sense of humor, how rich would you be?
I would be loaded because I love to laugh at literally everything. It’s my unhealthy coping mechanism of choice.
In a world where time travel exists, what era would you love to visit most?
I would likely visit the 90s death metal scene and see Mythic live. That would be pretty sick.
In a world where a new habitable planet identical to Earth has been discovered, and people have to choose between staying here on Earth or voyaging to colonize the new planet, would you stay or leave?
I would probably stay and die with the planet that our species actively destroyed. That sounds A bit depressing, doesn’t it? Haha
Only a bit 😂
In a world where you get to pick one superpower (mind-reading, flying, being invisible..) which one would you pick?
Teleporting because I have so many friends scattered all around the globe and I would love to hangout with my German friends one weekend and my Brazilian friends the next. Also, I’d save a ton of money on airfare. Haha
Thank you for playing Morgehanna.
Have you ever been treated in a sexist way? If you have or if you ever face sexism, how would you face it?
I deal with sexism quite a bit unfortunately. Especially because I play mostly death metal guitar. Death metal has a strong male energy to it and is male dominated. I deal with a lot of sexism from local guitar players. It’s funny, because when I first started, they would all put me down.. Now that I’ve built a small following, they ask me to join their bands or help promote theirs.
I got lucky with my guys. They’re not sexist pigs and they look out for me.
If you had the power to get rid of one problem the world is facing, what would that be?
Closed mindedness. I think especially now, if we could all just hear each other out and show some compassion, we could work together to resolve a lot of the world’s problems. I think ultimately, we all want the same things. We just have different ideas of how to implement certain ideas to get the outcomes we want. I think most people are generally “good”, if that makes any sense. But there’s just a lot of unwillingness to hear each other out.
Thank you for the interview! It was a pleasure. Good luck for you in your future plans.
Thanks a lot! This was a fun interview
