From the depths of gothic rock, darkwave, and industrial, Ashton Nyte has built a career defined by melancholy, elegance, and a distinctive sonic and visual identity. A guitarist, vocalist, composer, and producer, the South African artist is the creative soul behind The Awakening, a long-standing personal project that has left an indelible mark on the international dark scene. With nine studio albums, along with numerous singles and EPs, he has crafted a unique universe where introspective lyrics blend with a deeply theatrical and contemporary artistic vision.
Today marks the release of a new version of “Made of Rain” from the ‘Dancing With Angels’ album, presented as an evocative music video. Originally performed by Ashton Nyte and Michael Ciravolo, the visionary behind Beauty In Chaos, the song is reimagined here in an intimate and immersive atmosphere—like a warm light filtering through a velvet-draped speakeasy, where tales of longing and memory echo as whispers from beyond. Produced by Beauty In Chaos, the piece features Nyte’s emotionally charged interpretation, joined by Michael Rozon’s steel pedal, Heather Lockie’s acoustic violin and the special collaboration of Whitney Tai—a New York based singer, songwriter and poet, known for her atmospheric blend of alternative pop, dreamwave, and cinematic rock. The video was filmed and produced by Industrialism Films, a Los Angeles company specializing in cinematic visuals and music videos for artists in the alternative scene.
Together, they’ve created something truly special—an exquisite emotional refuge where one can both lose and find themselves in the music.
