Alternative rock icon Evanescence have surprised fans with a powerful new release: “Fight Like A Girl,” a collaboration with American singer-songwriter K.Flay. The track appears in the end credits of Ballerina, the successful spin-off of the John Wick universe, starring Ana de Armas and directed by Len Wiseman, with production led by Wick mastermind Chad Stahelski.
Released on July 7, 2025, the song is accompanied by a dark, cinematic music video directed by Stahelski himself—his debut behind the camera for a music video.
“Fight Like A Girl” is an emotionally charged track written by Amy Lee, K.Flay, Tyler Bates (composer of the John Wick score), and Dylan Eiland (Le Castle Vania). The song merges alternative rock, electronic textures, and orchestral depth, centered on themes of female empowerment, vengeance, and resilience.
The official music video, directed by Chad Stahelski, brings a visual depth that mirrors the John Wick aesthetic—moody, symbolic, and strikingly composed. It showcases themes of vulnerability and strength, told through sleek, minimalist imagery and emotional tension.
Musically, the track begins with a haunting piano line, nodding to Evanescence’s signature sound, before building into a soaring chorus where both voices intertwine with grit and defiance: “You’re not gonna break me.”
Ballerina, which premiered in theaters on June 6, follows a young assassin seeking revenge. The score was composed by Tyler Bates, a longtime collaborator of Amy Lee (notably on The Punisher and Sucker Punch), and includes other high-profile contributions, such as “Hand That Feeds,” a previous Lee collaboration with Halsey.
“Fight Like A Girl” carries on Evanescence’s tradition of cinematic soundtrack work—seen in Daredevil, Underworld, and Suffer Well—but with a modern, emotionally raw edge.
For John Wick fans, this track offers a fitting finale to the film’s brutal beauty. For Evanescence followers, it’s a powerful surprise that keeps the band’s creative flame alive between projects. And for those new to K.Flay, this may be the perfect introduction to her raw, introspective world.
“Fight Like A Girl” is now available on all digital platforms. Ballerina is currently showing in theaters worldwide.
