The international symphonic metal band Catalyst Crime has returned with force following their self-titled debut, unveiling their new video “Cursebreaker”, the first preview of their highly anticipated second album, set to be released in spring 2026 through Massacre Records. Combining symphonic, progressive, and cinematic elements, Catalyst Crime solidifies its place in the contemporary metal scene with a sound that merges musical power and great narrative power.
Formed in 2017, the band features the powerful vocals of American singer Zoe Marie Federoff (ex‑Cradle of Filth) and the precise drumming of Gerit Lamm (ex‑Xandria). They are joined by composer and keyboardist Jonah Weingarten (Pyramaze, Aries Descendant), who contributes orchestral arrangements, along with guitarists Chena Roxx and Kaelen Sarakinis and bassist Matt Federoff, creating a lineup capable of blending melody, strength, and epic atmosphere. Their sound is marked by grand orchestral introductions, powerful guitar riffs, clean vocals, and intense passages, crafting immersive sonic landscapes that transport listeners to a dark, cinematic universe.
The new single “Cursebreaker” is accompanied by a video that reinforces the band’s storytelling. According to Zoe Marie Federoff, the song is inspired by the story of her husband’s mother, who was part of a resistance network behind the Iron Curtain. The combination of visuals, orchestration, and guitar riffs conveys resilience and the power to overcome adversity, maintaining Catalyst Crime’s epic and cinematic signature.
With this release via Massacre Records, the band also previews their second album, set for spring 2026, promising to continue exploring the fusion of symphonic, progressive, and cinematic metal that has defined them since their inception. For fans of the metal scene, Catalyst Crime represents the perfect blend of technique, melody, and storytelling, establishing itself as one of the most compelling acts in the genre today.
