The Cocktail Slippers Release “This Town” Single and Music Video

by | Jun 14, 2026

Norwegian rock band The Cocktail Slippers has released a new single and accompanying music video titled “This Town.” The track serves as the latest preview of the group’s upcoming album, Joyride. While their previously released title track highlighted a 1970s hard rock influence, this new release shifts toward a more melodic, pop-oriented direction built on warm vocal harmonies and a laid-back groove.

Thematically, the song serves as a tribute to the band’s hometown of Oslo, exploring the contrasts found within a city’s environment. The lyrics observe the balance between darker, rougher street elements and the brighter, everyday moments of a local community. The track was recorded at Propeller Studios in Oslo with engineer Michael Scott Hartung, showcasing the five-piece group’s ability to blend power-pop hooks with garage rock sensibilities.

Active for over two decades, the Oslo-based quintet consists of vocalist Sandra Szabo, guitarists Stine Bendiksen and Sara Andersson, bassist Astrid Waller, and drummer Maria Storaas. “This Town” sets the stage for Joyride, which is scheduled for release later this summer on August 28. The new single and its music video are currently available to stream across all major digital platforms.
