Symphonic metal band Xandria has released a brand new single and an accompanying music video titled “Northstar.” The track serves as the latest preview of the group’s highly anticipated upcoming studio album, Eclipse, which is officially scheduled to arrive late this summer on August 7 via Napalm Records.

Taking a departure from their usual heavy aggression, the new song showcases a highly enchanting and cinematic side of the band. Guitarist Marco Heubaum conceptually developed the core melody after experiencing it during a dream, resulting in an atmospheric composition that heavily explores themes of fantasy, magic, and finding light within the darkness.

Operating as veterans of the symphonic metal scene, Xandria continues to expand their sonic boundaries with this current release cycle. The soaring arrangements found on “Northstar” represent the evolving dynamics of their modern sound as they prepare to share the complete Eclipse record with their dedicated international fanbase later this year.
