Progressive metal solo project Taethen has released a brand new single titled “Paradise for Fools.” The track serves as the first official preview from the highly anticipated upcoming full-length album, Illusory Sensations, which is officially scheduled to arrive on September 25.

Masterminded entirely by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Julia Kajanto, the independent project blends progressive metal with elements of post-metal, atmospheric sludge, and acoustic rock. Drawing sonic inspiration from acts such as Intronaut, Karnivool, and Opeth, the new single balances crushing heavy riffs with expansive and immersive soundscapes.

Thematically, the forthcoming Illusory Sensations record explores the complexities of the human condition, delving into existential uncertainty and psychological conflict. As a completely self-produced effort, Kajanto handled every aspect of the project, taking full responsibility for the songwriting, performance, recording, mixing, and mastering to ensure a singular artistic vision. “Paradise for Fools” is currently available to stream across all major digital platforms as the artist prepares for the September launch of the new album.
