FemMetal Awards Advertisement Spaces

Winners

Advertisement spaces on FemMetal are allocated based on the results of the FemMetal Awards. Each year, the editorial team determines the number of spaces available, which may vary annually. Winners and the order in which advertisement spaces are assigned are decided by standings and a weighted system applied to each award category.

The weight assigned to a category does not reflect its significance but rather considers which winners would benefit most from advertisement opportunities.

The Woman of the Year category is not allocated any advertisement space. Instead, the winner is featured with a dedicated space in the main menu, accompanied by an article written by a member of the FemMetal team highlighting her influence and cause.

Advertising Placing

On the desktop version of the website, advertisements are arranged in weight order along the sidebar, followed by four columns in the footer.

On the mobile version, where a sidebar is unavailable, advertisements are displayed in the footer, also organized by weight order.

Additionally, all advertisements are featured in the content area of the Featured Artists page. A link to the Featured Artists page can be found in the main menu.

 

Space Content

Default Content

These are the rules we follow to add default content for advertisement spaces before an artist informs us of any changes they require:

  • For musicians:

    • The default content is an advertisement for the winner’s latest major release.
    • The link will lead to a webpage where the release can be purchased.
    • A streaming link (e.g., Spotify) will be added only if the release is not for sale.
  • For influencers:

    • The link will lead to the influencer’s social media page.
    • The advertisement will include a prompt encouraging people to follow the influencer.

Submitted Content

Musicians and influencers can request changes to their advertisement at any time. These changes take 1–2 business days to complete.

There are no restrictions requiring the advertisement content to be related to the artist’s music or the influencer’s social media. Winners can choose to promote anything they wish, provided the following conditions are met:

  • Required Content Elements:

    • A square image.
    • A URL.
    • A header text.
  • Content Restrictions:

    • The content must not promote discrimination against any group based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or social status.
    • The content must not include disturbing imagery (e.g., sexual content or graphic violence). If the release artwork contains such imagery, the areas showing gore or explicit material will be blurred.
