Abby K is a name that has been gaining more and more attention recently. The young American singer, songwriter, and bassist have been impressing Rock fans with her brilliant songs that keep showing her hard work to build her own sound and use her talent in the finest of ways. Her latest release was the single and music video “Because of You”. Here’s my interview with Abby K talking about her music and the new single!

Hello Abby! Pleased to chat with you. Congratulations on your latest single ‘Because of You’. I read some great positive comments on the music video on YouTube. What do you make of such a positive reaction from your fans?
Hi! Thank you for having me! It’s been so amazing seeing all of the positive feedback we have gotten! We worked on this for a really long time and I’m glad to see people are enjoying it!
We saw your father participating in the music video and he is very actively supporting you on social media. How important is that support for you?
My dad is the reason I got into music. He introduced me to “the good stuff” when I was around 5 years old and when I turned 12 he took me to see KISS. Both of my parents are incredibly supportive and I’m very thankful for that, because I know that’s not always the case for musicians.
With every single you release we feel there’s an increasing curve in both the quality of music you’re delivering and the originality. What would you consider as the elements of the overall sound that you want to be known for?
We really try to think outside of the box when writing. While we are influenced by Iron Maiden, Halestorm, Lita Ford, we like to sound as unique as possible!
You’ve released a number of singles now to good success. Are you working on a big release like an album?
We have a few more releases in early 2022, which will hopefully lead to our debut album later next year!
You started your career at a very young age. Teenagers are usually not sure about what they want to do with their lives and they call it a transitional age because so many ideas and beliefs and dreams change during this period. What made you sure you want to follow this path and be a Rock musician?
As soon as I picked up a bass for the first time, I knew I was never putting it down. Music was never just an after school activity for me. Since I started, it has been my life. I made the choice to dedicate my life to music 5 years ago, and I have never looked back!
You recently shared the stage with The Iron Maidens. What’s a band or act that you’d love to share the stage with in the future?
Iron Maiden is my all-time favourite band, so opening for The Iron Maidens was a huge milestone for me! My dream band to open for would-be Halestorm or Iron Maiden!
If you could take a peek into the future 30 years from now, would you want to check on how your life and career went, or would you like to keep that a mystery?
I wouldn’t like to see where I end up in 30 years. I think it’s best to enjoy the journey no matter the outcome. Even if you never reach a goal, the path you take comes with memories and experiences that are worth everything.
Are there any upcoming shows or releases you’d like to tell us about?
I am about to go on tour supporting Nita Strauss! I am playing November 10th in New Orleans, LA, November 11th in Houston, TX, November 12th in Dallas, TX, November 13th in San Antonio, TX, November 15th in El Paso, TX, November 16th in Tucson, AZ, and November 18th in Hollywood, CA at The Whiskey A Go Go!
Thank you for your time, Abby! Anything you’d like to add?
