InerthyA is a band from Chile who have only just emerged into the Metal scene with the single “Anymore”. The band’s talented vocalist Fabii Isabelle talked with us about her band, their future plans, and her thoughts on several issues in music and life. Enjoy our interview with Fabii Isabelle.
Hello, Fabii. It’s really wonderful to chat with you. How are you doing today?
Hello Mirk and the FemMetal team, it is really a pleasure to meet you, I am very well, thank you very much
That’s great to hear. You are the lead singer of a very new band called Inerthya. Would you like to introduce your band to our readers?
Yes, of course.
My band is called Inertia and we are 4 friends from Chile. We do modern metal by mixing a lot of metal styles.
Our band was born in the middle of the pandemic in 2020.
You just released your debut single last month. How did you feel about the reaction it received from your friends and fans?
We really did not expect the good reception of our single, and it took us by surprise but we are very excited and happy with the good comments about the lyric video and also about the message that we wanted to deliver, many people received it well.
That’s wonderful. What is coming next for your band? Will there be new singles or maybe an EP or album?
We are preparing our next single which will be released in a few months and also our first full-length album which we hope will be released in the middle of next year so we are working hard on that.

In a universe where you find yourself the queen of a kingdom, what would be the first law you’d pass?
The first law in my modern kingdom would be about the promotion and investment of all kinds of arts as a priority in mental health
In a universe where you can choose a superpower to possess, would you rather have the ability to teleport from one place to another, or the ability to read minds?
I believe that the superpower of quickly teleporting from one place to another. I don’t like to wait, I’m a bit impatient haha
In a universe where you’re the statue of liberty, what object would you be holding instead of a torch?
A microphone, of course
How rich would you be considered in a universe where you pay for things you purchase by telling jokes?
I think I’d go bankrupt because I’m really bad at telling jokes just listening to them and laughing haha
In a universe where the sense of taste and sense of hearing got somehow mixed up in the human body, what food would you imagine your music would taste like?
My music is bittersweet but fresh so teriyaki sauce and ginger combined on sushi rolls
Delicious! In a universe where a zombie apocalypse happened, would you most likely be hiding in a safe house, outside fighting the zombies, or already turned into a zombie?
I think fighting zombies is pretty nice so that would be my job at the end of the world

Would you tell me a bit about the Metal and Rock scene in Chile? What are some bands you’d recommend from your country? And are there many fans of the genre?
In my country the Rock and Metal scene is very difficult but even so with a lot of effort you can get ahead and continue.
There are many good bands in Chile but if I have to recommend bands it would be Egregor, We Are The Monster, Before Breathing, Ten Richter and Frank’s White Canvas to name a few.
Although there are many fans of classic bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica, as well as other metal styles, so if a foreign band has a date here, success is guaranteed.
Have you ever faced any kind of sexism in your professional or personal life? How would you deal with sexist behaviour and what advice would you give young people around the world who face any kind of discrimination?
Within the metal scene, women experience a lot of discrimination, before more than now. It was thought that we were just decorations for the band, something nice. It is true that now everything is more open-minded but there is a long way to go. Even so, I am very proud of my fellow musicians because with effort and perseverance they have been able to get ahead, so I tell everyone to please ladies don’t give up, in this world ruled by men I think we still have a lot to say.
