2023 has been blessing us so far with many interesting releases, and this is also the case of the show that the FemMetal team attended last Friday in Bologna at the Alchemica Club. Reasons Behind hosted this event to share the day their third album became public for everyone to listen to. We would like to thank Elisa, particularly for her kindness and professionalism in having us there! This time the photos are by Enrico Marcolungo, who we thank for joining on short notice the FemMetal team!
Life in Between
There seems to be a slight delay in the schedule of about 15 minutes, and at 21:30, the first band takes place on stage. Life in Between is a modern metal band from Bologna, so they are playing right in their hometown. They have provided us with a very solid show and many interesting sounds that created wonderful atmospheres. My favourite track off their set was “My Demons“, which was mainly instrumental: lead singer Sara explained that this track would probably be played differently the next time, so we witnessed something very unique!
Setlist:
- Stormy Truth
- Sow in Sacrifice
- Fragments
- My Demons
- Weight of Time
- Existence of Lies
Degrees of Truth
Another Scarlet Records band of this evening is Degrees of Truth, and when the unmistakable intro of “The Remedy” begins, I rush in front of the stage to enjoy their performance. And what a band this is! I know I am probably writing with my heart and not with my head when it comes to Degrees, but even the most ignorant person in the world would be able to see the power that this band has on stage. They literally never skip a beat! I was very curious to hear the two singles from their third album live, and they didn’t disappoint. “Flightmare” is a powerful track, but played live is even more majestic and layered, while “Over the Tide” is harmonious and inspiring. Degrees surprised us with another track off of “Alchemists”, which was “Godless Symphony“, and that is the time when I almost passed away. I spoke to some people after their show, and all of them (who didn’t know the band before) were so amazed by this group. Keep on rockin’, guys!
Setlist:
- The Remedy
- The Void Within
- Finite Infinite
- Flightmare
- Long Way, Silk Road
- Godless Symphony
- Civilization
- Over the Tide
- Lifeless, Faultless
- The World Beneath My Feet
- Proximate
Reasons Behind
It’s a bit past 23:00, and the headliner band of the evening is ready to melt our faces: with “Zero Dawn” as their intro, Reasons Behind takes place on stage to amaze and entertain us. And boy, do they know how to put on a show! Lead singer Elisa likes so much to engage with the public, and it’s clear to see that they really are so passionate about what they do. Their enthusiasm and chemistry on stage are unmatched. We are delighted to hear many new tracks and all of the singles already released from “Architecture of an Ego”, but without forgetting the old hits everyone already loves. My personal favourite of the evening was “I³” because it is such an iconic track, and in this live version, it’s even better. Later, Elisa took a moment to thank Gabriele for writing “The Flame Inside“, another mighty song with a very meaningful video. Then, how can we all not jump on “(E)met“? It’s simply impossible. What a remarkable evening and performance from Reasons Behind! We’ll treasure the memories of this show forever.
