A roundup of the latest releases by bands led by women in rock and metal.

Dali Van Gogh – “Mama I’m Coming Home” (Ozzy Osbourne Tribute)

August 22 – Canadian hard rock band Dali Van Gogh has released a heartfelt tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne with their rendition of his 1991 ballad “Mama I’m Coming Home,” paired with a fan-driven video featuring clips from around the world. Blending their signature edge with deep emotion, the band honors Ozzy’s legacy while celebrating the global community he inspired. Both the single and video stand as a moving testament to his enduring impact and the passion that unites rock fans everywhere.

Abscence – “Our Love Ignites” (single from upcoming album Enigma)

Last month, Abscence released their single “Our Love Ignites” with an accompanying video, offering the first glimpse into their upcoming album Enigma which will be releasaed on September 12. The record is a gothic concept work chronicling the tragic and immortal love of two vampire women, bound by blood, betrayal, and devotion, told across nine long-form tracks that unfold like chapters in a dark epic. Drawing inspiration from 90s black and gothic metal while forging its own identity through symphonic layers, textured vocals, and sweeping compositions, Enigma rejects minimalism in favor of grandeur, atmosphere, and unflinching storytelling.

Living Dead Girl – “We’ll All Be Dead” (single from upcoming album Conspiracy)

Last week, Living Dead Girl released their new single “We’re All Be Dead” with a music video. This single is taken from their upcoming album Conspiracy, set for release on October 10th, and explores the struggles, doubts, and reflections of early adulthood through a dark and intense lens. The record expands on these themes with heavy, immersive instrumentation, layered vocals, and dramatic arrangements, delivering a sound that is both emotionally raw and unmistakably the band’s own.

Burning Witches – “Inquisition” (album)

Burning Witches released their sixth album, Inquisition on August 22 via Napalm Records. Leading up to the full release, the band shared singles including 2024: The Spell of the Skull, High Priestess of the Night, Soul Eater, and the title track Inquisition, giving fans a taste of the record’s dark and powerful energy. The album delivers the band’s signature blend of melodic heavy metal, soaring vocals, and intense riffs, reinforcing their place as one of the leading acts in modern female-fronted metal.
