Power-pop trailblazer Ken Stringfellow and talented Belgian composer Grażyna Bienkowski reunite for a delicate acoustic rendition of “Mirror”, accompanied by a beach-side video that’s now available on all major platforms.
Ken hardly needs an introduction: co-founder of The Posies, longtime member of the legendary Big Star, and frequent R.E.M. collaborator, the American multi-instrumentalist remains as vital as ever. He recently released his latest solo album, “Circuit Breaker” (2024), and is currently on an extensive world tour, with stops across Europe, the Americas, and Oceania.
The other half of this inspired pairing is Grażyna Bienkowski, a pianist, cellist, and singer-songwriter of Polish descent whose music blends neoclassical textures with jazz and indie influences. Her 2024 album “On the Edge of Sylvia” draws inspiration from the poetry of Sylvia Plath and features the original version of Mirror.
In this new acoustic take, Bienkowski’s airy vocals intertwine with Stringfellow’s subtle instrumentation, creating an intimate soundscape that feels like a gentle sea breeze captured in song.
