Vansind Releases Sophomore Folk Metal Album ‘Hævnen’

by | May 2, 2026

Danish folk metal outfit Vansind has released their sophomore album, Hævnen, via Mighty Music. Following their 2023 debut, the new record explores themes of revenge, betrayal, and sacrifice through a lens of Nordic mythology and Scandinavian history. The band expands their sonic identity by blending crushing metal riffs and harsh growls with soaring clean vocals, bagpipes, and tin whistles.

Formed in Slagelse, Denmark, in 2019, Vansind unites diverse musical backgrounds to create a sound that is both rooted in tradition and relentless in its heavy metal aggression. The group has built a strong live reputation across Europe, bringing their raw and cinematic performances to major events like CopenHell, Ragnarök Festival, and Malpaga Folk & Metal Fest.

Hævnen is currently available to stream across all major digital platforms. Physical collectors can also find the album on CD and limited-edition LP, featuring blue and black vinyl variants restricted to just 200 copies each.

Being a feminist has been normalized as an irregularity through our patriarchal society, so I'd rather be called a "decent human" than a "feminist man". I breathe Metal and Rock and have a screwed-up sense of humour.
