Sicksense Returns with “Newsflash” Single and Music Video

by | May 15, 2026

Modern metal band Sicksense has released a new single and accompanying music video for “Newsflash.” The track blends the band’s signature intensity with a fresh sonic direction, driven by heavy grooves and themes of individuality. The release taps into frustrations surrounding societal conformity, framing the tension into an empowering rally cry to embrace personal quirks.

Fronted by the vocal duo of Vicky Psarakis and Robby J. Fonts, Sicksense merges elements of metalcore, nu metal, and djent. The band first formed after the vocalists met in 2015, utilizing their previous experiences in The Agonist and Stuck Mojo to build a genre-defying sound. Following a stint with Earache Records that produced their 2025 debut album Cross Me Twice, the group recently announced a return to their independent roots.

“Newsflash” marks the beginning of this new independent chapter for the band alongside their current lineup of guitarist Jackson Snowden, bassist Richard Regier, and drummer Sam Neumann. The single serves as the first taste of new material, with Sicksense confirming that more music is planned for release later this year.

Being a feminist has been normalized as an irregularity through our patriarchal society, so I'd rather be called a "decent human" than a "feminist man". I breathe Metal and Rock and have a screwed-up sense of humour.
