KING ULTRAMEGA Releases “Loud Love” Chris Cornell Tribute Featuring Lzzy Hale

by | Jun 28, 2026

Musical tribute project KING ULTRAMEGA has released a new cover of Soundgarden’s 1989 track “Loud Love.” The release serves as a tribute to the late Chris Cornell and features a prominent lineup of guest musicians, including Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale, Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick, and Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen, alongside bassist and project founder Mark Menghi.

Driven by Menghi, the KING ULTRAMEGA project was formed to honor Cornell’s legacy by bringing together various musicians to reinterpret his catalog. To capture the specific era and raw energy of the original “Loud Love” recording, the instrumental tracking was executed entirely analogue, with Menghi and Skolnick recording their parts live together in the studio on a reel-to-reel tape machine before the track was mixed and mastered by Josh Wilbur.

The new release was launched in direct partnership with MusiCares, the Recording Academy’s nonprofit organization that provides mental health services, addiction recovery support, and emergency assistance to members of the music community. The KING ULTRAMEGA rendition of “Loud Love” and its accompanying music video are currently available to stream across all major digital platforms.

Being a feminist has been normalized as an irregularity through our patriarchal society, so I'd rather be called a "decent human" than a "feminist man". I breathe Metal and Rock and have a screwed-up sense of humour.
