International funeral doom collective Aphonic Threnody has released a new single titled “WHY DID YOU GO.” The track serves as the second preview from the group’s forthcoming album, Grace My Heart. The new full length record is officially scheduled to arrive late this summer on August 7 across all major digital streaming platforms.

Musically, the new track delivers a towering blend of heavy funeral doom instrumentation, mournful melodies, and an immersive cinematic atmosphere. Thematically, the song captures the unbearable weight of absence while exploring concepts of endurance, grief, spiritual fracture, and ultimate acceptance. Rather than focusing entirely on despair, the release explores how suffering can transform into quiet strength through time and reflection.

Operating as an international musical project, the band continues to refine their signature heavy sound built upon massive riffs and patient songwriting. The upcoming record was mixed and mastered by Riccardo Veronese, resulting in the group’s most focused and emotionally cohesive work to date. “WHY DID YOU GO” is currently available to stream online as the band prepares for the full arrival of Grace My Heart next month.
