Canadian heavy rock band Famous Strangers has released a new single titled “As Your Leader.” The track officially arrived on July 17 and serves as the latest preview of the group’s upcoming self titled debut album. The new full length record is officially scheduled to arrive later this summer on August 21.

Following the emotional intensity of their previous release “Ghosts of Men,” the new track leans heavily into the band’s more aggressive influences. Driven by crushing guitars and the passionate vocal delivery of frontwoman Amanda Kiernan, “As Your Leader” confronts concepts of manipulation and division. Thematically, the song encourages listeners to reject the illusions created by those in power and instead choose unity over fear by reclaiming their own voices.

Operating out of Edmonton, the four piece group blends heavy metal and hard rock with stripped back blues elements to create a highly dynamic sonic identity. To support the new material, Famous Strangers is currently preparing to embark on an extensive Western Canadian tour throughout August. The trek will culminate in two special hometown album release shows in Edmonton on August 21 and August 22 to celebrate the official launch of the new record.
