Carthage, North Carolina based alternative rock artist Scarlet Tantrum has released a new confrontational single titled “Rumors.” The track serves as the lead preview and title track from her upcoming extended play project of the same name.
Thematically, the new song tackles the modern currency of gossip, betrayal, and fake friends. Lyrically confronting those who trade loyalty for attention, the track serves as a direct shot at individuals who attempt to control another person’s narrative. Musically, “Rumors” blends alternative rock with Western tinged electric guitar work and a Southern rock edge, eventually culminating in a dark, aggressive breakdown driven by gritty vocal fry deliveries.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of artists including Paramore, Wolf Alice, and Garbage, Scarlet Tantrum continues to refine her unapologetic sonic identity. “Rumors” is currently available to stream and download across all major digital platforms as the artist prepares for the full arrival of her new extended play.
