Interview with Battlecreek

by | Aug 15, 2026

Battlecreek is a German thrash metal band from Germany. They performed at Wacken Open Air, and we had the chance to meet them and interview them!

Benedetta

I’m here with the amazing Battlecreek. How are you doing, guys?

Battlecreek

Hi, we are super excited. It’s crazy.

Benedetta

Awesome. So, you’re playing Wacken in the anniversary year. How does it feel?

Battlecreek

It’s not just because of the anniversary, it’s our first time ever we play here and it feels like, I don’t know, like a little bit of dream came true because we are like metalheads since the beginning and we visited Wacken 15 years ago or 2007 the first time, I guess, so now it’s pretty cool to be here as an artist. This was so great, we had so much fun, the people enjoyed it, I guess. The crowd was on fire.

Benedetta

So, I know that it’s your first time at Wacken but obviously you have experience with live shows and you have experience in studio recordings. Do you think that the life of an artist is a lonely life?

Battlecreek

I don’t think so, no. You met so many people on tour or on stages and have so many things to talk. I think that you never get bored. We met a lot of friends and friendships. We actually have friendships since 20 years or longer. We are just our four guys. It’s fun enough just with the music. Still the same band since day one.

Benedetta

Do you think that we will ever have some sort of equality between men and women in the metal world?

Battlecreek

It’s hard to say as a male. Because I don’t know how it feels for a woman, I just can’t imagine. But I think it’s getting better these days. Because there are so many great artists. I am a big fan of Crypta, for example. You can say there is no difference. They play the hardest stuff and they are really cool. But I think it should be more. You see here on the festival many bands with female singers or bandmates. They are represented as well.

Benedetta

Guys, thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview with me. Is there anything else that you want to add to our readers and viewers of the website?

Battlecreek

We never played in Italy. So, we want to say to your fans, to your audience, we want to come to Italy as soon as possible.

Benedetta Baldin

Hi! My name is Benedetta, I’m 29 and I live in Northern Italy. My passion has always been music: I started taking guitar lessons when I was 6. Now I work as a sales representative, but in my free time I interview talented people, I spread the word about my favorite band (MoonSun), and I go to concerts or travel around Europe.
I am a huge collector of anything Tolkien-related, autographs, merchandise, and CDs. I am quite an original person and don’t mind being the voice outside of the choir (even though I play in the church’s choir!).
