Italian progressive alternative metal band RED CODE have released the music video for “Checkmate”, a track taken from their debut EP, Traces of Unease and Discomfort (Episode 1), available via Epictronic.

“Checkmate” utilizes the framework of a chess match to explore themes of manipulation, control, and emotional conflict. The track combines heavy riffs with a tense atmosphere, building toward a point where winning and losing stop being distinct outcomes in a game built on destruction.

The accompanying music video serves as one of three chapters in An Archive of Us, a science fiction thriller short film set in a dystopian environment to examine the human need for control. The visual project also includes chapters built around the tracks “Quarantine” and “Toxic Karma”. The film was produced by S@NGIORGIO 2020 with technical support provided by Infinity Digital.
