Australian heavy band Future Static have released their new single, “Waterworks”, taken from their upcoming second album, Ornaments & Memories. The record is scheduled for release on November 6 via Wild Thing Records.

The track marks a return to the band’s post hardcore roots. Lyrically, the song addresses themes of negative tunnel vision, self sabotage, and unavoidable meltdowns. These concepts are paired with rhythmic chaos and urgent guitar leads to reflect the overwhelming nature of the subject matter.

Ornaments & Memories serves as the Melbourne quintet’s second full length release, following their 2023 debut album, Liminality. The new material explores a darker and more philosophical direction, focusing on internal and external conflict, growth, and the experience of living in a rapidly accelerating world.
