Calgary-based metal band The Astral Prophets have released their debut full-length album, Invasion, on October 30, 2026. The eight-track record follows their 2023 EP, Anywhere But Here, and combines groove metal, melodic power metal, hard rock, and electronic elements in a style the band calls “Power Groove.” Formed in 2019 by former members of progressive folk metal band Scythia, The Astral Prophets have developed a sound built around heavy riffs, melodic vocals, and science-fiction storytelling.

Invasion explores alien invasions, technological dystopias, cosmic romance, madness, and humanity’s uncertain future. The album features previously released singles “Into Nothing,” a glam-inspired hard rock track, “Invasion,” which includes a guest guitar performance by Jeff Black of Glyph, and “Power of the Rift,” which combines electronic synthesizers with heavy guitar riffs. The record also addresses themes of anger, revenge, love, and longing through its science-fiction setting.

The album marks a return to the band’s heavier roots while expanding on the melodic and atmospheric elements introduced in their earlier material. The current lineup features vocalist Staci Allen, guitarists AJ Bergin and Harley D’Orazio, bassist Terry Savage, and drummer Kyle Summers. To celebrate the release, The Astral Prophets performed a joint album release show with Victoria Lies at Festival Hall in Calgary on October 30.
