The iconic Dutch band, Within Temptation, have won the Best Rock / Alternative Act Award in the FemMetal Awards 2023.
The band founded in 1996 is known for its symphonic metal sound. However, Within Temptation did not confine themselves to one genre and have always been expanding their musical spectrum. Due to this variety, Within Temptation was nominated for both Best Metal Act, which covers the heavier genres of Metal, as well as Best Rock / Alternative Act, which covers Rock and Alternative Metal subgenres.
Within Temptation won the Best Rock / Alternative Act category with 24% of the total votes. The other nominees are:
