Saturday nights are meant for going out, drinking, eating and listening to some good music. And what better music than Nightwish? We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see once again the tribute band “Wishmasters“, fronted by a dear FemMetal friend. As usual, the team was me and our photographer Silvio Colombo, which we thank for the incredible photos he took!

The only complaint I have about the night is that the concert started way too late, around 11 PM. It wasn’t a problem for most since the following day was Sunday, but I am one who hits the sack very early. Nevertheless, they were quite punctual, and the unmistakable intro of “Dark Chest Of Wonders” began. The whole band was giving it all on stage, and lead vocalist and founder Claudia was smashing all those high notes like a piece of cake.

The night progresses with a lot of songs from all the Nightwish eras, including recent hits like “Noise” and forgotten jewels like “Come Cover Me“. I have been absolutely delighted by the choice of playing “Moondance” because that one is one of my favourite instrumentals! But the highlight, in my personal opinion, was their rendition of “Endless Forms Most Beautiful“, which the original band seems to have abandoned off their setlists way too soon.

After coming back with the tour with Mollust, drummer Andrea was doing his best to accompany this tight group; Michele was nailing the bass perfectly, Gianluca was rocking out both the mic and the guitar, and the very own Maestro Mauro could give Tuomas a run for his money. You cannot miss the chance to see this fantastic group live: they take Nightwish to a whole new level, playing out the songs we know and that we are fond of!

Benedetta Baldin

Hi! My name is Benedetta, I’m 29 and I live in Northern Italy. My passion has always been music: I started taking guitar lessons when I was 6. Now I work as a sales representative, but in my free time I interview talented people, I spread the word about my favorite band (MoonSun), and I go to concerts or travel around Europe. I am a huge collector of anything Tolkien-related, autographs, merchandise, and CDs. I am quite an original person and don’t mind being the voice outside of the choir (even though I play in the church’s choir!).
