Last year, KNOTFEST launched a new podcast hosted by Tori Kravitz and Alicia Atout. The podcast focuses on promoting and supporting women’s progress in the music industry, whether their role is performing or management or simply being influential on the scene.

The podcast interviews leading women in the scene, and has been a platform for many significant role models to talk about their experiences. The list of guests that have appeared so far on “She’s With The Band” includes names such as the iconic music journalist and PR personality, Amy Sciarretto, legendary tattoo artist, Kat Von D, as well as musicians such as Butcher Babies, Nita Strauss, Clémentine Delauney, OTEP, and most recently Infected Rain’s Lena Scissorhands.

The first episode aired on December 12th in which the hosts introduced themselves and talked about their own experiences in the roles they have played as media personalities in the industry and shared some situations they faced that highlighted the importance of having outlets specialized in supporting women in music. Since then, the podcast continues with an episode airing on weekly basis.

Knotfest has progressed from being a festival into a giant platform that fosters cultural advancement in the music scene. “She’s With The Band” is a living example of that.

You can watch all the episodes of “She’s With The Band” on YouTube or the Knotfest website.

Being a feminist has been normalized as an irregularity through our patriarchal society, so I'd rather be called a "decent human" than a "feminist man". I breathe Metal and Rock and have a screwed-up sense of humour.
