Inquisition has a very cinematic sound. If it were the soundtrack to a film, what kind of story would it tell?
Lala
A historical event in Medieval time deals about persecution, heresy, witchcraft, doctrine and torture.
Reuel
If all the songs from Inquisition came to life as humans, which one would be your best friend?
Lala
The High Priestess for sure because of her knowledge , wisdom , spirituality , femininity and being a powerful leader of the coven to guide the rituals.
Reuel
The album closes with “Malus Maga,” which feels ritualistic and ominous. How do you decide which songs make the perfect bookends for an album?
Lala
Every Album of Burning Witches has its historical background and story. We want this album to be mystical and dark. Having intro and outro in the album makes this whole album as one and more dramatic for a listener.
Reuel
Was there a moment during the making of Inquisition when something unexpected happened in the studio that shaped the album in a new way?
Lala
Being a real musician will come up during making the songs and being a truly Artist will come up during recording process because of having additional ideas and elements to make a song complete, beautiful and with satisfaction how we wanted to sound. Romana is a great song writer. She knows what she wanted to keep the standard of how Burning Witches have to sound like.
Reuel
Burning Witches’ music often channels themes of strength and defiance. How do you personally carry that spirit into your performances on stage?
Lala
We always enjoy playing live. Seeing people having smile on their faces while singing to our song and enjoying our set gave us lots of adrenaline and its priceless. We love what we do and that is playing Heavy metal.
Reuel
Fans will soon get to experience Inquisition live. If you could design one special moment in the set that captures the soul of the album, what would it be?
Lala
We just enjoy playing our new songs. Give our 120% energy, heart and passion on it. So that we can capture the soul of our new album.
Reuel
Many of your albums draw on history and myth. Is there a historical figure or legend you haven’t touched yet that you’d love to explore in a future song?
Lala
We haven’t decided it yet. There will be for sure another great idea for making a new album or songs. Right now, we just wanted to enjoy playing our new Album Inquisition that we gave all our effort and passion on it. Many great songs indeed.
Reuel
Over the years, Burning Witches has grown a strong identity. What’s one lesson you’ve learned from working together as a band that shaped Inquisition the most?
Lala
I think we grew much more as a musician on our 6th album Inquisition. Experience and having fun all together and being as a family shaped us now that’s why we reached this horizon. It would be impossible to reach this without the help of our Family and Damir Eskic of Destruction and Gomorra. And of course, our loyal fans that stayed with us since the start of the band. We thank them big time.
