The post‑punk duo Edges, made up of Nick Ruvalcaba and Cristina Sardón, is back on the scene with a new single titled “One Bad Move”, officially released on January 16, 2026. The song marks another step in the band’s sonic evolution, combining urgent guitars, enveloping synthesizers, hardcore energy, and the vocal duality that defines the project.
Since its beginnings in Los Angeles as Nick’s solo project, Edges has developed a sound that blends post‑punk, shoegaze, darkwave, and hardcore, bringing that energy to Europe since 2019. Cristina’s addition in 2023 enhanced the band’s expressiveness, providing vocals that contrast and complement Nick’s intensity, establishing Edges as a duo capable of balancing emotion and urgency.
In One Bad Move, Edges explore the tension of indecision and the fear that a single mistake can change everything, with a production defined by nervous riffs, subtle electronic textures, and vocal interplay that conveys introspection and drama. The track captures the band’s essence: emotional intensity, dense atmospheres, and a post‑punk and hardcore pulse that never lets up.
“It’s a song about the fear of messing up, about feeling that a single move could change everything. We wanted that to be heard in every chord and every word,” the duo comments about the single.
The single is now available on Bandcamp, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms.
