Dutch vocalist Dianne van Giersbergen continues to expand her solo project DIANNE with the release of her new single, “The Quietude”, out on April 3, 2026. The track marks another step forward in her ongoing conceptual work “Soulward Bound”, a project she has been developing gradually over the past few years.
Additionally, the single is accompanied by a music video.
With “The Quietude”, DIANNE leans into a more introspective and emotionally driven sound, moving slightly away from heavier metal elements in favor of a neoclassical and cinematic atmosphere. The composition places a strong emphasis on vocal performance, allowing Dianne’s expressive range to take center stage.
The single features soprano Elena Vink, whose presence creates a compelling vocal dialogue that enhances the song’s narrative concept: an imagined encounter between different versions of the self across time — past, present, and future. This idea is reflected in the track’s ethereal and reflective mood, highlighting a new layer of depth within the “Soulward Bound” universe.
Instrumentally, the song is enriched by contributions from renowned musicians such as Perttu Kivilaakso (Apocalyptica) on cello and Ben Mathot on violin, adding texture and emotional weight to the arrangement.
As the seventh release within this ambitious project, “The Quietude” further cements DIANNE’s artistic identity, showcasing a more personal, narrative-driven direction that prioritizes atmosphere, emotion, and musical storytelling.
“The Quietude” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
