Hailing from Birmingham, England, Black Rose Moves has established itself as one of the most compelling acts in contemporary Gothic Rock and Darkwave. The band began its journey in 2024, led by Grant Leon (vocals) and Mark Neat (guitars, synthesizers, and production). They recently added a bassist, strengthening the lineup and adding greater depth to their sound both live and in the studio.
From the start, Black Rose Moves has crafted a dark and immersive sonic universe, combining powerful guitars, atmospheric synthesizers, and danceable rhythms, all under an aesthetic reminiscent of genre classics like The Sisters of Mercy and The Cult, but with a modern and unique twist. Their lyrics explore melancholy, isolation, desire, and urban decay, creating a captivating contrast between introspection and rhythmic energy.
In terms of their discography, the band debuted with the single Summer of Sorrow (June 2024) and Ghost Town (August 2024). In 2025, they released their EP Death Dance, featuring the tracks Lips Taste Blood, Shadow Dance, Jessica, and Summer of Sorrow. The EP immerses listeners in dense, atmospheric soundscapes and is available digitally as well as in a limited-edition CD, quickly selling across the UK, USA, Australia, and Europe, reflecting the band’s growing international reach.
Recently, on September 12, 2025, Black Rose Moves released their new single “Club of Sin”, further exploring their signature Gothic Rock and Darkwave style while confirming their place at the forefront of the European alternative scene.
The band has brought their music to the stage, including a tour alongside Clan of Xymox, solidifying their live reputation and demonstrating their ability to connect with audiences across the gothic music scene.
Despite their youth, Black Rose Moves has already garnered attention from specialized media and music platforms, standing out for their ability to transport listeners into a danceable and cinematic Gothic Rock and Darkwave universe. The addition of the new bassist shows that the band is ready to tackle new challenges, tours, and upcoming recordings with even greater musical solidity.
