The Barcelona-based band unveil a new single and music video, blending darkwave and Spanish-language rock with echoes of the ’80s and ’90s.

Novena Senda present “A la deriva”, a new single accompanied by a music video that serves as the first preview of their upcoming second album. The song delves into emotional exhaustion and the feeling of being lost, wrapped in a dark, atmospheric soundscape where electronic textures and rock converge, evoking the sonic landscapes of the 1980s and 1990s.

With “A la deriva”, the band explores the territory where uncertainty and emotional weariness become a landscape of their own. Their sound combines the immersive textures of darkwave with the intensity of Spanish-language rock, bringing together echoes of influences such as Depeche Mode and Héroes del Silencio while maintaining a distinctive musical identity.

Formed in Barcelona in 2017 by Lorenzo Ferrer, Edu Migueles and David Arroyo, Novena Senda have steadily developed their sound through a combination of synthesizers, guitars and shadowy atmospheres. Their debut album, Laberinto de Voces (2022), laid the foundations for a project that bridges the legacy of Spanish-language rock with darker electronic sounds.

Now, “A la deriva” opens a new chapter in the band’s journey, offering a first glimpse into the sonic world of their second album. Turning a sense of disorientation into music, the track finds in its accompanying video a visual extension of the emotional journey at its core.
