Prayers, the project led by Rafael Reyes (Leafar Seyer), returns with “No Tengo Calma,” a new single that opens the door to a new creative chapter for one of the most distinctive names in the darkwave and electronic music scene.

Released in September 2026, “No Tengo Calma” runs for just over two minutes and maintains the essence that has established Prayers as one of the leading names associated with the Cholo Goth movement: dark electronic sounds, haunting atmospheres, and an identity deeply connected to Mexican roots and Reyes’ personal experience. The release also serves as a preview of Oraciones, Prayers’ upcoming EP.

Since its beginnings, Prayers has created a musical space where gothic aesthetics, electronic post-punk, and elements of Chicano and Mexican culture come together. Rafael Reyes has turned this combination into more than simply a musical label, developing a distinctive artistic identity in which spirituality, street culture, memory, pain, love, and survival coexist.

“No Tengo Calma” arrives at an important moment for the project. Throughout his career, Reyes has used Prayers as a vehicle to explore his roots, personal experiences, and relationship with the culture that has shaped his life. His work has created a bridge between two seemingly distant worlds: barrio and Chicano culture on one side, and darkwave, post-punk, and electronic music on the other.

The release also marks a new international chapter for Prayers, alongside the No Tengo Calma Tour 2026, with several dates scheduled to bring the new material to audiences on stage.

The arrival of the single coincides with another stage in Rafael Reyes’ artistic journey, as he continues to expand the Cholo Goth concept and introduce his distinctive artistic universe to new audiences. His music retains a strong visual and sonic identity in which tattoos, religious symbolism, Mexican imagery, darkness, and electronic music become part of the same artistic language.

The title itself, “No Tengo Calma,” connects with one of the recurring elements of Reyes’ creative universe: restlessness, inner struggle, and the search for balance in the midst of darkness. The new track therefore becomes another piece in an artistic journey that has been developing for more than a decade while remaining firmly connected to its roots.
