After 12 years and four albums, the era of Alissa White-Gluz at Arch Enemy has come to an end. Earlier today, both the Swedish band and the Canadian vocalist announced that they were parting ways, a decision that came as a major surprise to many metal fans.
In her statement, Alissa thanked the fans and left them with something to look forward to, saying: “I can’t wait to share what I have been working on with you all (with some big surprises in store). Stay tuned for big news in 2026, and see you very soon.” Two hours later, she announced her new single and music video, “The Room Where She Died”, calling it an “offering” from her upcoming solo album. The song is written by Alissa White-Gluz and Oliver Palotai (ex-Doro, currently a member of Kamelot and Sons of Seasons).
Before joining Arch Enemy, White-Gluz fronted The Agonist, a band she also co-founded, for about ten years. Her time with The Agonist came to an end shortly after she joined Arch Enemy.
