Single Review: Onion Mash – “One Minute More”

Mar 1, 2025

February is a short month, but UK Hard Rock band Onion Mash made it feel even longer, keeping us waiting for the release of their new single, One Minute More. Dropping on the final day of February, this track is only the band’s second release, yet it’s already clear that Onion Mash has found its sound and a distinct path in a genre as old as recorded music.

The song opens with a captivating interplay between instruments, each one adding to the build-up. The bass stands out, bringing a sense of elegance and depth that sets the tone from the very first note.

Then come the vocals—raw and heartfelt. Every word carries pain and frustration, echoing the emotions behind the lyrics. There’s a weight to the delivery, a sense of struggle that lingers in every note.

Despite its heavy theme, One Minute More is undeniably catchy. It blends a classic British Rock sound, mashed (no pun intended) with Onion Mash’s own unique touch. The result is a track that feels both familiar and fresh, proving the band knows exactly who they are.

But beyond the music, One Minute More tells a story—one that many in the UK know too well. It sheds light on the struggles of the healthcare system, the waiting, the desperation, the moments that feel endless. And in just a few minutes, Onion Mash turns that struggle into something unforgettable.
