Seven up-and-coming Finnish bands have been added to the line-up for next summer’s Tuska festival in Suvilahti from 30 June to 2 July, and will take over the Tuska KVLT Stage during the festival weekend. The bands have secured their place in the line-up by being part of the Tuska KVLT community last summer. More Tuska performers will be announced later.
This summer’s Tuska KVLT bands are modern metal airs Slash The Smile, folk-infused black metal act Kouta, groovy thrash metal act Nervebreak, hard rock, heavy metal and grunge act Angles Mortis, metalcore band Irrational Cause, who will release their debut album in June, Vansidian, who offer retro video game-inspired melodies and devastating death metal riffs, and Kúru, who combine prog and metal.
“For me, last summer’s Tuska KVLT was my first introduction to event management. It was great to work with a good team for a common and important cause. Thanks to KVLT, I got a job in the event industry for the rest of the summer and autumn, so overall the experience was rewarding and useful. In the summer, I’ll be doing my own gig in Tuska”

Tuska KVLT recruitment and band search open
The nearly 200-strong Tuska KVLT community aims to ensure the continuity and renewal of a culture built around metal music. The community is involved in organising the festival alongside over a thousand event professionals. Participants get to see all aspects of event production before, during and after the festival.
Getting to know different but like-minded people is one of the attractions of the community year after year. In 2022, the youngest participants in Tuska KVLT were just 18 years old and the oldest 64.
Recruitment for 2023 is currently underway on the Tuska KVLT website. No previous festival experience is required, just 18 years of age and a good attitude. There is an induction for all positions.
The recruitment process is also looking for new talent for the 2024 Tuska KVLT Stage. A spot on the festival stage is guaranteed as all band members have participated in Tuska KVLT activities this year.
