ANA Debuts “The Matrix” Inspired Music Video for “Shadow of Life”

by | Apr 18, 2026

Melbourne-based band ANA has released the music video for their latest single, “Shadow of Life.” Directed by Peter Coulson, the visual aesthetic draws heavy inspiration from The Matrix, featuring high-fashion “couture metal” styling with leather coats and sunglasses. While the song’s lyrics serve as a philosophical reminder to embrace the present, vocalist Anna Khristenko chose a more upbeat and cinematic direction for the video.

The track is the second single from the band’s upcoming full-length album, Motivated By Death, scheduled for release on May 29, 2026. The production of the video also featured a custom neon green Ormsby guitar, which the band has announced will be part of a special giveaway for fans.

Being a feminist has been normalized as an irregularity through our patriarchal society, so I'd rather be called a "decent human" than a "feminist man". I breathe Metal and Rock and have a screwed-up sense of humour.
