Lowsunday Join Forces with Psychotribe and Sam Rosenthal for Call Silence Remixed

by | Oct 28, 2026

The American band revisits one of its compositions through two remixes that explore the industrial and ambient sides of its sound. Released via Projekt Records, the single is accompanied by a noir-inspired music video set against the Brutalist architecture of Pittsburgh.

Lowsunday continue to build on their creative comeback with Call Silence Remixed, a two-track single released on October 9, 2026, via Projekt Records. The release brings together Psychotribe and Sam Rosenthal, two figures from the underground music scene who offer contrasting interpretations of the same composition, expanding its sonic possibilities while preserving its introspective character.

The first version, Call Silence (Silent Tribe Remix by Psychotribe), takes the track into industrial, EBM and electronic territory, emphasizing mechanical rhythms and a hypnotic sonic intensity. The remix pushes the song toward a more physical, rhythm-driven sound while retaining the dark atmosphere that defines Lowsunday’s music.

In contrast, Sam Rosenthal—founder of Projekt Records and a key figure behind Black Tape For A Blue Girl—opts for a more atmospheric approach. Built around drones, immersive electronic textures and distant vocals, his reinterpretation deepens the song’s emotional dimension, transforming it into a more abstract and introspective soundscape.

The release is accompanied by a music video for Psychotribe’s remix. Psychotribe is the alias of Peter Guellard, a musician and producer associated with the project DEATĦ B¥ LØVE. Directed by Guellard himself and starring Shane Sahene and Sereny Welsby, the video explores the tension and emotional distance between two people through a noir-inspired visual narrative.

Posvar Hall, at the University of Pittsburgh, provides the striking architectural backdrop for the video. Its monumental Brutalist interiors, defined by concrete surfaces, geometric forms and imposing spaces, reinforce the atmosphere of isolation and emotional disconnection. The architecture becomes an integral part of the visual storytelling, echoing the starkness and intensity of the music.

Formed in Pittsburgh in 1994 as Low Sunday Ghost Machine, Lowsunday emerged among the early American bands associated with the 1990s shoegaze scene. Their distinctive sound brings together post-punk, dream pop and darkwave, combining atmospheric guitars, synthesizers and melancholic vocals into a richly textured musical landscape.

Their self-titled debut, Low Sunday Ghost Machine (1996), and its follow-up, Elesgiem (1999), established the band as a cult presence within alternative music. In 2025, Lowsunday resumed releasing new material with White EP, their first new release in decades, followed by Black EP in 2026.
