Northern Irish metal band Anam Ritual have announced their debut single, “Captivity,” scheduled for release on November 13, 2026, across all major streaming platforms. Established in 2026, the four-piece band were previously known as Hard To Explain before adopting their new name to reflect changes in their lineup and musical direction. Their sound combines atmospheric electronic synthesizers, heavy breakdowns, powerful drumming, and melodic vocals.
“Captivity” explores a dystopian view of modern society, questioning how much freedom individuals truly have within systems built around competition, control, and constant work. Drawing inspiration from current social conditions, the song examines whether people are genuinely in control of their lives or simply following rules established by forces beyond their influence. The single marks the beginning of Anam Ritual’s new musical direction and will also receive a YouTube premiere.
