Let’s dive into the history of Sick Puppies, the Australian alternative rock band known for blending post-grunge, hard rock, alternative metal, and nu-metal in their early years.
Formed in 1997, the band has remained active, evolving their sound over the years. Their current lineup consists of:
- Emma Anzai – Bass and backing vocals
- Mark Goodwin – Drums
- Bryan Scott – Vocals and guitar
Sick Puppies gained recognition early on, earning the title of “Best Live Performance” with their debut album Welcome to the Real World (2001).
In 2006, their single “All the Same” reached #11 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart. The following year, they released their second album, Dressed Up as Life (2007), which climbed to #4 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers list in the United States.
Two years later, in June 2009, Sick Puppies released their third studio album, Tri-Polar. That same year, they wrote “Street Fighter (War),” a track featured in advertisements for the video game Street Fighter IV. Their song “You’re Going Down” was also included in the soundtrack for WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010.
