I have a theory that bands with a long name that is often abbreviated always offer a revolutionary kind of music. Culture Of Digital Elegance abbreviated as C.O.D.E is not an exception. The Greek band has recently released “No Excuses”, in which they further showcased their unique style of Rock music. Check out their new album down below!

I had the pleasure of chatting with Vicky Fysika, the vocalist of the band, and asking her about her band’s new album, their music, and her view on many other things. Here’s our interview with Vicky Fysika of C.O.D.E.

Hello Vicky! How are you and the rest of C.O.D.E doing?
Hi and thank you for having me! We are doing good, we are very happy about our latest album release and trying to keep our minds on track given all this “COVID” situation.
You released your new album “No Excuses” late last year. How are you feeling about the reception the album got from your fans?
We are very proud about the “No Excuses” album release and so excited that we gained a lot of new fans. “No Excuses” includes lots of musical influences, so everyone has different songs to identify with.
How would you describe C.O.D.E’s music to our readers who haven’t checked your music out yet?
Our sound is a blend of rock attitude with electronic music elements and more. Generally, we experiment with different styles regardless of genre. Our music has alternating emotions and dynamics, with melodic vocals and rhythms that make you groove.
In order to get to know you better, and to have some fun, how about we play a game? I will give you a certain scenario in an alternate universe and you will have to react. Ready?
I love playing games, so hit me!
In a universe where you’re the ruler of a country, what would be an interesting law you’d make?
I would downscale the 8 hours daily work to 6 hours because life starts right after work and we don’t have enough time to rest, have fun, spend time with our loved ones and do things that we like to do.
In a universe where humans are born with superpowers related to their personalities, what would your superpower be?
I don’t know if this is related to my personality, but I would like to breathe underwater because I love the seabed, the tranquillity it has and all its beautiful creatures.
In a universe where you’re the statue of liberty, what object would you be holding instead of a torch?
A bird with open wings, ready to fly.
In a universe where the currency is the person’s sense of humour, how rich would you be?
If this universe existed, I would be quite wealthy 😀
In a universe where the senses of taste and hearing are mixed up, what food would C.O.D.E’s music taste like?
Definitely pizza, because you can put many different ingredients, you never get bored of it and … who does not love pizza?
Thank you for playing, Vicky! Do you remember the first time you performed in front of a live audience? How did it feel?
How could I forget about it? Our first live performance was one of our most moving moments! There was tension, emotion, dynamism and anxiety about what we would encounter. There is nothing more beautiful than presenting your work that you created with so much love and effort to a live audience. It was beautiful and all our friends and family were there.
Have you ever been treated in a sexist manner? How would you have sexism and what advice would you give to young people who deal with any kind of discrimination?
The truth is that I have never felt sexism and when I realize any suspicion of sexism towards me so far in my life, I have managed in my own way to prevent it. My advice to any person who faces any kind of discrimination is to not accept it, not to think for a moment that he/she is to blame, not to pay attention to what those around him/her say because life is ours to live it the way we want and when faced with such incidents, to talk about it to loved ones, because love heals everything.
Thank you for the interview, Vicky. Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you again for having me, I enjoyed it very much, take care everyone and I hope you like our music 🙂
