We had the pleasure to interview the Rock Queen from Australia, Lisa Perry of Hellz Abyss, and ask her about her band’s new music and get to know her better.

Hello Lisa. How are you doing? How is 2021 treating you so far?
Hello! It has been an amazing year so far, I have been crazy busy! A few tours have been booked for Europe and the UK in September this year with my amazing tour group Global Unity Tours, Japan and South Korea is being booked now for April 2022, and i’m working on an exclusive deal for promotion and distribution in China for Hellz Abyss. I have also begun writing album number 2 as we speak with my amazing partners Daryl Holden and Mark Pollard.
You have just released your new album ‘N1FG’. How are you feeling about the reception this album has got so far from the fans?
N1FG is truly a guided missile that is landing well into the laps of Hellz Abyss Listeners Worldwide. The reaction to the first full length 14 track album by Hellz Abyss has been great from both fans and industry insiders, I couldn’t be happier. Hard work really does pay off in the end.
For our readers who haven’t checked out the album yet, what would you tell them to expect if they go do that right now?
Hellz Abyss’s music is a new breath of air in the Hard Rock world, I believe it is something new for the ears of millions of listeners. Its hard, its sharp, its slightly acentric. The vocals are powerful but yet dynamic. The music of Hellz Abyss is focused on a story about survival, each song reflects the challenges that we all face and overcome. The music allows the listener to relate their experiences. Its moody, strong, dynamic hard rock! With screaming guitar solos, crunching guitar and thumping bass, its that kind of music that makes you want to strut with a stomp and a feisty grin. Vocals that sing, scream, growl and grunt with a little raunch and sleaze… it’s all there, a complete assault on every emotion.
To get our readers to know you better and from a different point of view, how about we play a little imagination game? I will give you a scenario in an alternate universe and you’d have to react. Ready?
In a universe where you’re the executive producer of an action series running on Netflix, and they asked you to pick a theme song from your album ‘N1FG’, which song would it be?
Lets put the hard rock anthem “Shoot to kill” in there. As the lyrics are.. If you shoot to kill, ill shoot to kill you… very action man style and the song has a great energy. Great for a car chase with guns blazing!
In a universe where music is illegal and you are put in jail one year for each album you own, how long would you be in jail for?
Albums released – 1, EPs released – 1 and singles released 12 in the last 12 months! Wow, I didn’t realize just how much i got done in the last 12 months! I’m literally sitting here counting the releases on my fingers! But thank god it’s only 1 album!!!! 1 year in Jail for me!
In a universe where you pay by telling jokes and being funny, not by money, how rich would you be considered?
Lets just say my toilet paper would be 4 ply and I would own my home lol… Seriously though, knowing my luck, I probably would have been banned from Lifebook in that universe for telling vulgar jokes and living in the bush wiping my ass with gum leaves somewhere… but I’d still be laughing :)…
In a universe where you’re the Statue of Liberty, but instead of a torch you’re holding an object that would represent your personality, what would you be holding?
I would be holding a big ass laser gun that annihilates negative energy, destroys hate and spits out positive for everyone no matter who you are, or where you come from, male or female. We all need a break from the negative. Life’s tough.
In a universe where the senses of taste and hearing are mixed up, what food or drink would ‘N1FG’ taste like?
It would taste like sweet revenge for some, bitter lemons for others and a big meaty juicy steak for whoever wished to enjoy its gloriousness while basking in the enjoyment of watching the lemon eaters squirm..
In a universe where aliens from a planet that doesn’t have music have requested one song from ‘N1FG’ as a specimen so their scientists would study this phenomenon, what song would you give them?
Deadones would be perfect, the story of not living but existing in this world. Are you living every moment to the fullest? Or are you already dead when your alive? Live your life, chase those goals.
Thank you for playing, Lisa! What is your most treasured music-related memory from your childhood?
As far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to perform and sing. When I was 7, my family moved to Australia. I joined a local dance group in a local nightclub that would run on Saturday mornings, the place stunk of alcohol and my feet would stick to the beer stained floor but I felt at home, every week on lunch break I had the chance to stand on the same ‘big’ stage as the biggest touring Australian artists and bands of the time and sing my heart out. It was amazing, they would run the lights and people would clap, I just knew what I wanted and had to become.
Have you ever been treated in a sexist way? How would you face sexism and what advice would you give to young people who face any kind of discrimination?
YES! Many times sadly but i make them sorry. In fact I flew all the way to the USA where the “Person” who I was to work with expected a meek little princess to step off the plane. Boy was he wrong lol. I analysed the situation and I was being emotionally abused and controlled, catfished in the most terrible way, thousands and thousands of miles away from home, alone. On the second day I stood up after I had copped another mouthful of narcissistic abuse and said. “Mate, if you don’t like it…. There’s the fucking door…” You should have seen his face… hahahahaha. I believe people need to stand up for themselves, please don’t let anyone pull you down. Be strong, be brave and speak up. I have been put down, discriminated against for singing a male vocal. I’ve had everything from drinking glasses to underpants thrown at me. I’ve had date rape drugs slipped in my rider on stage ive been punched, poked, trolled, stalked and lied to BUT every time they try i get the Hell back up, i grow stronger and show them i will win. Each negative i am given i take it and make it into a work of art. N1FG.
